1990s Rapper MC Supreme Killed In Car Crash
Tragedy struck in Malibu, Calif. over the weekend when ’90s rapper MC Supreme was killed in a fatal car accident on the Pacific Coast Highway on Saturday (June 13). The rap veteran, real name Dewayne Coleman, 47, was pronounced dead on the scene, according to the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office.
Coleman and a female passenger were riding down P.C.H. at Coral Canyon Road, infamous for its history of road accidents and known to be a “death trap” according to actor Rob Lowe, who tweeted a link to an article about the crash on Sunday:

While in the driver’s seat of a parked Honda Civic, a GMC pickup truck slammed into the vehicle and collided with a GMC Sierra at at 6:22am local time, the Los Angeles Times reports. While Supreme died on the scene, the female passenger was treated with moderate injuries and the passengers in the Sierra were uninjured.
The driver of the pickup, Philip Thomas Torres, 33, suffered minor injuries and was arrested on suspicion of vehicle manslaughter and DUI.
Coleman was known in the 1990s for his song “Black in America” from the compilation album We’re All in The Same Gang, which included the anti-violence song that shares the LP’s name by the West Coast Rap All-Stars.
His sister, Irene, told the City News Service that he dedicated his time to working with the youth in his community to help steer them away from gang involvement.
