Celebs Remember Legendary Singer Prince On The Fifth Anniversary Of His Death

The legendary singer Prince was remembered on the fifth anniversary his death.

The "Purple Rain" musician - who died age 57 - was honored at his Paisley Park estate in Chanhassen, MN. Around 1,400 fans turned up to pay their respects.

Fans respectfully wandered around Prince's beloved 65K-square-foot complex sitting on roughly nine acres of land at 7801 Audubon Road. His loyal supporters also hung mementos on a cyclone fence, reports Star Tribune.

Tributes poured in on social media from both fans and celebrities.

Prince's percussionist Sheila E. shared five Instagram posts filled with memories.

"5 yrs ago today u ascended to heaven. Even though you left us your legacy, ur music, it is still hard to believe u are not here," wrote the 63-year-old Grammy nominee, who met him in 1978.

"I want to call or text u but I know u won't answer. There has never been and will never be another one like Prince. We miss u and remember u always, your legacy continues even now."

SNL star Maya Rudolph - who fronts a Prince cover band called Princess - posted a cute black and white picture of him with a purple heart and infinity emoji.

Eight-time Grammy winner Beck - whose 1999 album Midnite Vultures was inspired by Prince - shared a pic of the pair embracing onstage the 2015 Grammy Awards captioned: "Five years gone."

While, three-time Grammy winner Lizzo - who lived in Minnesota from 2011-2016 - posted a snap of him captioned: "Missing you."

Kids actress Rosario Dawson shared a picture of the pair on a 2011 episode of Lopez Tonight captioned: "You Funny Mother Flower #LegendsNeverDie."

Ballerina Misty Copeland starred in Prince's "Crimson and Clover" music video in 2009, shared a video dancing with Prince on the George Lopez show.

Singer/actress Apollonia Kotero posted a distorted snap of her and her late co-star in the Oscar-winning 1984 film Purple Rain. She captioned with purple hearts and a broken heart emoji.

Prince's second wife Manuela Testolini, whom he divorced in 2006, posted a lengthy statement in his honor.

"5 years. It's gone so fast and so slowly at the same time. I don't know which is better," he Canadian businesswoman wrote.

The late Prince Roger Nelson's sister Tyka - who shares one-sixth of his estate - shared a childhood snap of the pair and wrote to his fans: "Thank u ALL 4 ur continued love & support it means the world 2 me! 4Ever Prince."

Prince died from an accidental fentanyl overdose in 2016.
